Allie's Story Anorexia Nervosa Albany, New York

It all began as skipping one meal after being called a "fat pig". It escalated from there. I was skipping two meals a day and eating just an apple and three saltine crackers for dinner. I lost weight rapidly and caught the attention of my family doctor. I was afraid to eat and was hospitalized because I refused to eat and continued to lose weight, despite the threats of my family to force-feed me. I was hospitalized for a total of four times within an eight month period. Today, I am still anorexic, but I'm in therapy and see a nutritionist. I'm slowly recovering from the disease that nearly ruined my family and ruined my life.
